first_img Facebook The Strokes Begin “Global Comeback” at Bilbao Fest meet-me-bilbao-strokes-announce-global-comeback-tour-2019 Meet Me In Bilbao: The Strokes Announce “Global Comeback” Tour In 2019 The band will headline the fest in Bilbao, Spain, which will also feature GRAMMY winners Thom Yorke and Weezer, as well as Latin GRAMMY winner Rosalía, rapper Vince Staples, and the Voidz, frontman Julian Casablancas’ side project. While no other tour dates have been announced, a press release confirmed by a band representative said that the festival will “kick off their global comeback,” according to Consequence Of Sound. The comeback comes as great news to fans, as the Strokes haven’t released any new material since their 2016 EP, Future Present Past. Members have been busy working on side projects. Casablancas has been touring with the Voidz, who released their latest album, Virtue, in 2018.Albert Hammond Jr., one of the guitarists in the band, released a solo album, Francis Trouble, earlier this year and teamed up with Fender to release a Signature Series Stratocaster. Nick Valensi, responsible for the other riffs behand the band, was on tour this year with his other band CRX.Bassist Nikolai Fraiture’s band Summer Moon will tour with The Killers in the beginning of 2019. Drummer Fabrizio Moretti has done artwork outside of working with Little Joy and other side projects.Interestingly enough, the “Meet Me In The Bathroom” band, whose releases have received mixed reviews by critics—other than their highly anticipated and highly acclaimed 2001 debut Is This It?—has chosen their first show to be Spain, where Casablanca’s father is from. While a reunion has been announced, the band continues to have their fans guessing on the release of new material. In 2016, after the release of Future Present Past, Valensi confirmed in an interview with DIY Magazine that the band was working on new music: “We are slowly but surely working on an album,” he confirmed, adding: “I don’t know when it’s going to be released, we’re kind of just in writing sessions. We’re writing…”Before the DIY interview, Valensi told NME that they might just pull off a Beyoncé-style drop: “If I start saying a lot now, people get too excited…Then there’s all this hype you’ve got to compete with, and that’s not fun. If anything, I’d rather just pull a Beyoncé at some point next year and just drop s**t.”For now fans in the U.S. can consider making the trek to Spain to see The Strokes’ performance. Volkswagen recalls 662000 Atlas Passat vehicles for illegally adjustable headlights

Volkswagen Every vehicle sold in the US must conform to a massive amount of regulations known as the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards. If an even seemingly insignificant FMVSS violation makes it to market, it’s all but guaranteed that a recall will follow. That’s the reason behind VW’s latest recall, which is a big one.Volkswagen has issued a recall for 662,185 examples of the 2018-2019 VW Atlas SUV and the 2012-2020 VW Passat sedan. There are a lot of cars in this recall, carrying a wide variety of build dates and non-sequential VIN ranges, so it’s best to give your dealership a ring if you think your vehicle might be part of this. The problem stems from a single cap. When it’s still being assembled, factory workers align the headlights’ horizontal aim, and then that aim adjuster is sealed off with a cap. However, the vehicles included in this recall never had that cap installed, allowing Average Joes and Janes to adjust the headlights horizontally. This puts the vehicle in violation of FMVSS 108, which states that headlights are not allowed to be adjusted horizontally after assembly. Since it’s out of spec according to federal regulations, VW initiated a recall to remedy the issue.VW discovered the problem in early 2019, when the automaker discovered missing instructions about installing the horizontal-aim adjustment cap. VW remedied this by correcting the work instructions, and then it went about figuring out how many vehicles had these missing caps. If a person changes their headlights’ horizontal aim, it may not provide adequate coverage as expected, which could present a safety hazard.Volkswagen is still researching a permanent remedy, but the idea behind it is simple: Dealership technicians will block the horizontal aim adjuster, preventing owners from making changes after the vehicle has been sold. Dealers have already been notified of the recall and affected owners should start to receive notifications in the mail later in July. 2018 Subaru Crosstrek: Just as good as before, only bettercenter_img 5 things you need to know about the 2018 Volkswagen Atlas 2018 Ford EcoSport: Better late than never 5 Tags 2020 Toyota Supra review: A solid sports car that’s rife with controversy Car Industry SUVs Sedans 1:26 Comments Volkswagenlast_img read more

The police said that they have not yet arrested the accused since they are still gathering evidence of the incident. The girl along with her family used to work at the brick kiln and lived in a room adjacent to it. The victim’s father had gone to the town to get some medicines on Friday evening after her mother fell ill. He left her along with her brother, 12, and the incident took place after he left the kiln. He was informed the next day that his daughter’s body was found in a charred stateAccording to the police, the girl’s family did not suspect rape initially but filed a complaint against the brick kiln owner and six others claiming so. The father claimed that she was taken by two men who work in the area and was gang-raped, after which they burnt her alive. The girl’s slippers and some clothes were recovered from the crime spot.”An FIR has been registered on the basis of a complaint by the victim’s father against the brick kiln owner and six others on charges of gang rape, murder and sections of the SC/ST Atrocities Act. The allegations of rape have not been confirmed. But the investigation is pending and arrests will be made as per evidence,” said the area’s Circle Officer, reports The Indian Express. The girl’s father also claimed that since the makeshift room does not have electricity or any other inflammable materials, how can the room catch fire.
