Tourism Australia and USIT have joined forces to organise a one way flight, visa and travel insurance for €999!The Australian Working Holiday Visa (WHM Visa) allows young people between the ages of 18 and 30 to have an extended holiday supplemented by casual employment for up to 12 months in Australia. Under the Working Holiday programme in Australia, the primary purpose of your visit must be holiday, but you are entitled to seek temporary employment in Oz to help fund your stay.The €999 package assists you in setting up an Australian bank account and registration for a tax file number.The programme, running from late November through December, is aiming to inspire young globetrotters to turn their dream of moving to Oz a reality. Requirements:> You must be aged between 18 and 30 (inclusive) at the date of your Australia work visa application> You must not have any dependent children> You have enough funds to support yourself when you arrive in Australia> You must hold a passport from an eligible country, valid for at least one more year> You have not received an Australian Working Holiday Visa before> You must not have any serious criminal convictions> You must not have any serious medical issuesHere’s the checklist for what you need to do to begin your adventure down under!Working Holiday VisaIf you have made the exciting decision to travel and work in Oz for 12 months, you will need a working holiday visa – This VISA will enable you to work and live in Australia for up to 12 months. It is possible to obtain a Second Working Holiday Visa if you complete 3 months harvest work.Apply for an Australian Tax File NumberYou will need an Australian Tax File Number to work in Australia – Most employers will require you to provide them with this before you start work, so it is a good idea to get this sorted.Buy insuranceYou must buy travel insurance before you leave the country, fingers crossed you don’t need to use it. But it is good to be prepared just in case.Set up an Australian bank accountWhen working in Australia your wages will need to be paid into an Aussie bank account. This you can sort out when you arrive in Oz, you will need to take along your passport and some money to get started.
